Why do we overthink?

Do you ever feel like your brain is in overdrive and won’t stop ruminating on a situation? Our anxiety tries to help us find solutions to protect ourselves from hurt or the unknown, but this anxiety often isn’t actually protective. Because this is a false sense of control and doesn’t actually dictate what happens. All we can control is our own behavior and responses.

Reminding ourselves of what’s actually in our control can help to ease these anxious spirals.
